In the same breath as, "We don't need no stinking badges!" ..........I say, "We don't need no stinking free agents!" Lets see what the team can do, and what the kids from the minors coming up can do.............Next year there will be a better opportunity for free agent starting pitchers anyway. Center Field.............just make due this year..........Can you say Mr. Harper? I can. BRING IT :) Category: MLB Tags: Washington Nationals
Pitching, CFDecember 1, 2011 1:30 pm
Simple solution. Sign Mr B (from the WhiteSox), trade Stamen, Maya, and Flores for the up and comming CF from Pittsburgh Mr. M. If they can sign Oswalt it would be great as well, but money will be tight this year I believe. I'm not ready for the Nats to spend 150M plus for a firstbaseman, though I know they would look great in the infield. What ya think? GO NATS Category: MLB Tags: Washington Nationals
Nats 2011 SeasonSeptember 29, 2011 12:17 am
The Nats 2011 season has come to an end. The Nats have made some good improvements in 2011. There are some things to look forward to in 2012. Steven Strasburg finished the season with a nice win vs the Marlins today. The Nats will end their season at 80-81. I said this team could be at least .500. I believe they would have been .500 had they not had a game rained out vs the Dodgers. This is definitely a year to build on. It will be interesting to see what happens in the off season. If I had to pick a team MVP it will be Michael Morse. Morse finished the season with 30 homers and I believe a.303 batting average. I had a chance to go to quite a few games this season. I must say I enjoyed going to the ball park this year. I felt like the Nats had a chance to win almost every night despite their record. I look forward to 2012. I hope to see you all at the ball park next year. How many fans in this group have been to some games? It seems like the group is growing with 75 members even though we have been relatively quiet in this group this year. Well bring on 2012. Let's go Nats!! Category: MLB Tags: Washington Nationals
How about that Win StreakJune 18, 2011 12:14 am
Well the Nats are on a roll. They have a 7 game win streak as of tonight. The first few months of the season have been really enjoyable to watch. I was at the Cards game last night to witness Danny Espinosa's game winning Home run. I was also at the Nats 10-0 win over the Cards the night before as well. I find myself wanting to go to every game I can this year. There is nothing like going to a great ballpark and watching the home team play great Baseball. Right now the Nats are making it easier to cheer them on by playing well every night. The best part is the season is still young and I have so much hope for this team. It was a great win Tonight vs the Orioles. See ya at the ballpark. Let's go Nats!!. Category: MLB Tags: Washington Nationals
CF, LF, and 1B for the NatsJune 17, 2011 11:22 am
Great game last night! Spilled my drink when Espinosa hit that shot. Didn't like Burnett coming in, but Clippard and Storen were the ones to worry about! Let's talk about the field players. No pitchers, just position players. Figure that CF, LF, and 1B are our "weak" points. Morse is doing great at 1B, but at CF and LF we need some power. Harper will come on in 2013. Maybe late 2012, if that. Put him in LF. But what do you do in the mean time? Bernadina stays in CF until the Nats find someone. No one free agent wise is out there that is WAY better than he is right now. He is hitting and his defense is solid. So what do we do for CF? Sign a free agent or make a trade. Morse is fantastic at 1B. But that is LaRoche's spot when he comes back next year. Do you sign Pujols or Fielder, give them 1B then move Morse, who you HAVE to start, back into LF. Then you have to trade LaRoche and who the hell is gonna take him in a trade? THEN, when Harper comes up, what do you do with Morse? Plattoning him is not the answer. We have to sign Nix this offseason too. He can come in and hit and play LF or RF. But he will want to start too. Also, if there are any trades, do you think anyone will want anyone we have in the minors instead of Bernadina, Desmond or Nix? This is not a batting order. These are the Nats who management think are permanent at their positions: Jason Werth RF Ryan Zimmerman 3B Danny Espinosa 2B Ian Desmond SS Wilson Ramos C With LaRoche done for the year, the Nats settled a question by putting Morse on 1B, but next year will be tricky. I would be interested in what National fans have to say about this. These aren't bad problems either. Just questions that the Nats front office will have to answer soon! Category: MLB Tags: Nationals
